BENEFITS & SERVICES

Veterans and their dependents may be eligible for a broad range of benefits and services provided by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs ( VA). These benefits are in Title 38 of the United States Code.  The staff at Herndon Law, PC will provide a brief overview of the most commonly sought information concerning Veterans benefits and services, to include a brief overview of VA Healthcare.

Veterans may also be entitled to service-connected compensation.  This is a benefit paid to a Veteran because of injuries or diseases that happened on active duty, or were made worse by active military service.  This benefit is paid to certain disabled Veterans from VA Health Care.  Some Veterans may qualify for non-service connected disability pension which is a needs-based program for Veterans with war-time service who are permanently and totally disabled, or are over the age of 65.

Widows of Veterans, eligible survivors of military service members who died in the line of duty, or eligible survivors of Veterans whose death resulted from a service-related injury or disease, may be entitled to VA Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) .  Another potential benefit to widows and eligible survivors is the VA Survivors Pension.  This benefit offers monthly payments to qualified surviving spouses and unmarried dependent children of wartime Veterans who meet certain income and net worth limitations established by Congress.

Veterans may also be entitled to VA Healthcare.  Veterans may receive services such as regular checkups with a primary care provider and appointments with specialists.  You may also be able to access Veterans Healthcare services like home health and geriatric care or obtaining medical equipment, prosthetics and prescriptions.  Veterans are placed in Priority Groups for Healthcare.  The staff at Herndon Law, P.C. provides an educational approach to VA Benefits and Healthcare and assists Veterans with appeals to benefits that may have been previously denied.  Our team looks forward to working with you, and we thank you for your service!
